Goa Hair Salon

The stylist probably only worked on my hair for 10 minutes. I asked for a curtain bang and she gave me black out curtains. I didn’t say anything on the spot because I didn’t see how my hair fell naturally since she put a hair curler on right after blow drying. Hair length is not even and she chop way too much hair than I expected… There were 0 communication in the process. Not to mention that I had the worst hair washing experience ever… Water temperature kept jumping between hot and cold (at some point it was even too hot). The girl wet my back then apologized and straight out digging into my back and start drying my clothes… I didn’t feel like being treated like a human the whole process. This is my second time coming to GOA. I had a good experience the first time so I decided to come back. And this is the biggest mistake I’ve ever made. I’m my friend’s bridesmaid in 2 days and I don’t have time to go back and fix it since I flew back to my hometown… Everyone reading this review please make sure you do your research on the hairdresser before going… This may not be the salon that you can just go in and trust. Everytime I look at myself in the mirror now I just can’t stop blaming myself for being so stupid.

The staff are so lovely at this salon. I usually get my hair taken care of by An. She’s skilled in many areas from dying my hair a beautiful platinum blonde, to root touch ups and pays careful attention to detail when cutting my layers. Without even asking, she knows what my hair needs and even does treatment for damaged hair. In addition, one of my favourite parts of GOA salon is how they wash my hair. Their relaxing scalp massages and high quality shampoos that smell amazing is something I always look forward to. 🩷

I was optimistic about this place, but unfortunately did not have a good experience. Staff were very friendly, and the studio atmosphere is great, but it just seems like the hair dresser lacks confidence / experience. I decided to write a review to provide some constructive criticism to the business that will hopefully provide a better experience for future clients. Feedback #1 – It would be great if the hair dresser checked in with the client at least once, to make sure that the cut is going in the right direction. Feedback #2 – I think there needs to be more of a discussion prior to the haircut to make sure that both parties understand the vision. After showing my reference photos, I wasn't sure whether what I wanted was understood. I held my tongue trusting the process, but when I realized that the cut was nearing the end, I had to speak up. Mostly it seemed like there was a lack of communication throughout the entire process, maybe due to a language barrier that made it uncomfortable for the hair dresser to communicate in English. In the end, I like the haircut --It wasn't what I had in mind and it didn't align with the reference photos I showed at the beginning, but considering the fair price, it's okay. However, if you're super precious about your hair, and very sensitive, I would probably not come here.

I got my perm today with Hana and she really nice and made suggestions based on the perm and cut I wanted she was very precise with the cuts. She also offered beverages while waiting for to perm solution and in end she was telling me on how to take care of my hair. I was very satisfied with the end result I will definitely come again.
